How It Works

Coptis contains several bioactive compounds, including the alkaloids berberine, palmatine, and jatrorrhizine, reported to be beneficial for healthy immune and inflammatory responses.

Berberine increases the production of butyrate, a vital short-chain fatty acid that helps regulate the intestinal environment, regulate the inflammatory response, and strengthen the gut barrier.

Palmatine also supports a healthy inflammatory response and reduces oxidative stress, protecting cells from free radical damage. Likewise, jatrorrhizine supports a healthy inflammatory response and has been found to soothe intestinal discomfort and promote gut bacteria balance.

Curcumin is an ancient Ayurvedic remedy with potent, gut-protective properties. Curcumin is widely used to support GI health due to its ability to regulate intestinal inflammation, protect gut cells from free radical damage, and balance the microbiome.

FAQ

What is Curcumin, anyway?

Curcumin is extracted from the rhizome of Curcuma longa, native to India, and used throughout Southeast Asia for centuries for digestive support, circulation, and various benefits to the liver and joints, which are attributable to its antioxidant properties and other mechanisms of action.

What are the anti-inflammatory properties of Curcumin?

Curcumin has a wide range of potent anti-inflammatory effects through multiple mechanisms. It inhibits proliferation of pro-inflammatory T-cells and inhibits pro-inflammatory cytokines like TNF-α and molecular cell factors such as NF-κB. This directly relieves inflammation in the intestinal mucosa, allowing for complete mucosal healing.

What makes Cura different from other forms of Curcumin?

Unlike any available Curcumin on the market, we specifically use a non-absorbable formulation that reduces systemic exposure and increases curcumin concentration where it’s most needed: in the gut! The formulation is designed to directly target and soothe inflammation in the intestinal mucosa, where IBD inflammation occurs.
